The Honoree of the evening was Richard J. Harshman, Chairman, President, and CEO of ATI, and the Corporate Chair, James E. Rohr, retired Executive Chairman of PNC Financial Services Group.
The Motown theme carried throughout the event with models and actors portraying legends of the Motown era, while guests enjoyed appetizers and cocktails. Speed painter, Cody Sabol, created stunning paintings in minutes, including a portrait of Mr. Rogers.
The ballroom doors opened to reveal, shimmering gold backdrops, stunning floral centerpiece and beautifully set tables featuring both a bottle of red and white wines.
Dinner followed, with guests participating in both the silent and live auctions. The Event Show Band created an ideal ambiance for the evening performing hits from the Motown era.
Committee member Lisa Ann Cantalamessa, described the struggles involved with Type one diabetes, which her son was diagnosed with. From the daily ups and downs to her genuine concern over why the disease occurs and furthering research that will result in a cure.
Each year over 40,000 individuals are diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, an autoimmune disease, which affects over 1.25 million people. This disease is often misunderstood and should not be confused with Type 2 Diabetes, which is related to diet. Although great advancements have been made in the management and treatment of Type 1 diabetes, the ultimate goal of JDRF, is finding a cure.
