It's that time of year again, when Pittsburgh celebrates the
accomplishments of the Pittsburgh Film Office!
“Netflix Lights! Glamour! Action!” Gala, sponsored by Highmark
Blue Cross and Blue Shield, will be held on February 23rd, from 6 PM - 11 PM at
its new location, The Pennsylvanian. Also debuting, a new night for the
Gala, Saturday, to allow for Oscar predictions.
Guests will walk the red carpet under the Pennsylvanian's rotunda
to gain entrance to this elegant event.
Cuisine will be featured from area restaurants including
Eddie V’s, A519 Chocolate, Blume Honey Water, Braddock’s Pittsburgh Brasserie, Con
Alma, Double Wide Grill, Eddie Merlot’s, Lidia’s Pittsburgh, Molinaro’s,
Monterey Bay, Pittsburgh Smokehouse, and Parkhurst.
Richard Parsakian, Production Curator and owner of Eons Antique Fashions,
explained “The Pittsburgh Film Office places a spotlight on local assets for
bringing the national film industry to Pittsburgh, we will showcase a young, talented
fashion designer, Brian David at this year’s gala who will elevate what red
carpet glamour is all about.” Brian
describes his designs as "Luxurious fabrics and classic couture techniques, which give
a refined, polished look to my vintage inspired collection."
VIP Patrons, will receive early admittance from 6
PM to 8 PM and have exclusive access to performances by Beauty Slap, and
legendary Pittsburgh/Broadway performer, Lenora Nemetz.
Under the direction of Dawn Keezer, who has served the Film Office
for the past 24 years, the PFO has assisted in over 260 feature films,
television series, and commercial productions. The impact on our local
economy has been astounding, with over $1.2 Billion brought into to our
region.
Tickets are available at Showclix at $125 for General Admission, and
$250 for VIP access.
Although the venue has changed over the years, the Hollywood
theme, beautiful gowns, and a night of pure entertainment, are a constant part
