Andy Warhol Museum 20th Anniversary Gala
Over
650 international guests arrived to a jet set theme, “passports” in
hand, for the Andy Warhol Museum 20th Anniversary Gala. Flight
attendants, dressed to fit the part, escorted guests to the elevators to
begin their “flights”.
Approximately 8000 pieces of art were displayed throughout the museums seven floors as well as photos of Andy Warhol's life, many with celebrities.
The second floor was transformed to the Halston exhibit, “Silver and Suede” with stunning couture gowns, cosmetics, couture hats, and an array of Halston Shoes. Many guests reminisced about owning some of the displayed items, including an Ultra Suede Dress circa 1980 and a Satin Strapless Sarong Gown.
VIP guests included Nancy North, a friend of Andy Warhol, stunning in a deep navy vintage Halston gown, who spoke of her days as a model for Halston. Yu Watari and her father Koichi Watari, came from Tokyo to celebrate the anniversary and the art of Andy Warhol.
The Warhola family arrived and viewed the second floor exhibits while paparazzi snapped photos of the group.

The evening ended with an elegant dinner ,the entertainment kept a well guarded secrets , until Gloria Gaynor, performed her hit “I Will Survive”. With the music of the 80's playing in the background throughout the night, it was as if, for one night we were transformed back to the days of Studio 54, with the presence of Andy Warhol and Halston.....
