The Warhol Museum 25th Anniversary Celebration

The evening began with a champagne toast, and 600 guests receiving a VIP preview of the Warhol Museum's new exhibit "Revelations".  The exhibit centers around Andy Warhol's collection of art inspired by his Byzantine Catholic upbringing.  Attending multiple weekly services with his mother, Julia Warhola, the icons and paintings of Christ had a profound affect on his art.

The sea of silver and black attire was refreshingly complimented by many eclectic styles including Lana Neumeyer's  Warhol Icon Dress.  Hand painted by Pittsburgh artist and photographer, Michael Goltz and designed by Lana.

Exquisitely decorated tents provided the backdrop for the impressive seated dinner catered by the Duquesne Club. The evening's guest star, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, took to the stage with a high energy  performance to close out the dinner portion of the event.

Lana is wearing a dress that was hand painted by Michael Goltz.  "The painting on the dress is similar to a Byzantine Icon of St John Chrysostom, but it is not an icon. St John Chrysostom is the name of the Byzantine Catholic parish in Pittsburgh that Andy Warhol went to," Michael Goltz.
Lana Neumeyer created the dress to wear to the 25th anniversary gala for the Andy Warhol museum.  Pictured with Lana is the artist Michael Goltz

The Pittsburgh Zoo  and PPG Aqaurium Summer Safari 2019

The Summer Safari is a highly  anticipated and greatly enjoyed party and this year was no exception!  VIP guest mingled and enjoyed samplings of many regional restaurants dishes, with a steel drum band setting the mood.
Casual, close up encounters with Hedwig the Eurasian Owl, O'Henry the Alpaca, Rihanna the Porcupine  and a particularly friendly snake, were both educational and entertaining.

Below in the village, guest had a similar experience with live music, food, drinks, and entertainment.

As guest made there way through the zoo, the cooler evening temperatures allowed visitors to see the animals up close, with tigers, elephants, and giraffe extremely active and engaging their audience.

The sell out crowed of nearly 1500 concluded the evening with more music, food, and entertainment. To learn more about the zoo, visit https://www.pittsburghzoo.org/
